First Steps
First Steps is PAXnorth’s introductory class to what we believe as a church and is the first step to serving and being more deeply involved with PAX. Learn what the church believes about God, the Bible, and the Church. It’s typically held on Sunday after the church service with supper provided. Check out the calendar for next dates or email info@paxnorth.ca to sign up!
Next Steps
Next Steps is the class where we discuss what Membership at PAXnorth looks like. Learn what membership entails and what the Bible says about being involved with the local church. This class is taken after you’ve already taken First Steps. Check out the calendar for dates or email info@paxnorth.ca for more information.
Soup Sundays
During the school year, we host a Sunday Soup evening every other week after the service. Different people from the church offer to make soup each time, accommodating most dietary requirements, and the people of PAX get to hang out and eat supper together. Come and get to know our community over a bowl of soup!
PAXkids
We have child-appropriate levels of teaching during the sermon on Sundays for kids ages 18m-9years through PAXtots (18m to 5 years) and PAXkids (5 -9 years). There is a self-serve nursery in the basement for those with babies and toddlers younger than 18m.
PAXyouth
PAXyouth is for our young people and their friends in grades 6-12. They meet almost every Tuesday and it’s a great time of games, food, and teaching in a way that youth can grow in their faith and ask questions important to them. Check the calendar for upcoming events!
Missional Communities
Missional Communities are our small groups at PAXnorth that meet weekly in people’s homes. We have several across the city that meet on different nights. See below for more information and for how to sign up.
Faith
Missional communities are great places to work out questions about faith, about church, and about God with those who love you and are committed to helping you love God more. Communities often will work through books of the Bible, sermon application questions, or books on theology or Christian living together.
Life
Our communities are based on being the three identities of Family, Servants, and Missionaries together. This means we spend time together, and learn how to incorporate others into the rhythms of Celebrating, Eating, Blessing, Listening, Recreating, and Sharing Stories.
Culture
We use our communities both as places to invite others who may not yet know Jesus, and to encourage and enable each other to live out the Great Commission in our God-given spheres of influence.
