Leviticus: God’s Concern with the wholeness of holiness

Brad takes us through chapters 11 – 16, focusing primarily on purity, and clean vs unclean statuses. What did being unclean mean, and what do we learn about God’s holiness in seeing what He demanded of His people?

Also, what are the implications for us, here are now?

(Production note: Brad’s microphone battery pack cut out twice – so you will notice two brief gaps. Sorry about that!)

Leviticus: God’s Concern with Righteousness and Justice

Chapters 9 and 10 of Leviticus show us God’s concern with righteousness and justice. His glory makes righteousness a concern. We see our need for a mediator, our need for atonement, and our need for acceptance-all of which come from God. His holiness makes justice a concern. He sets the standard of justice; he claims the right of justice; and he brings about the result of justice.

Leviticus: Guilt Offering

Today Brad takes us through Leviticus 5 and looks at the deceptions committed against the holy things, the holy law, and against the holy people. He then covers what the law does not do, and explains the experience of overflowing grace of faith and love.

Leviticus: Sin Offering

Leviticus 4 deals with sin and the importance of the Hebrew sacrificial practices for the atonement of sin. Brad explores how sin offerings were a vital part of worship that benefitted both God and His people.

Leviticus: Peace Offerings

Brad takes us through Leviticus chapter 3, which outlines the direction given to God’s people regarding Peace Offerings. How does this apply to us? What lessons can we learn in studying the  specifics of the peace offerings God commanded of His people. They were commanded to give their best (“All the fat is the Lord’s”). What should we do with the fat in our lives? What fat do we cling on to in our lives?

Leviticus: Atonement

Leviticus opens up with God speaking to Moses. It is crucial not to miss that this is God speaking to his people, Israel, and to us. God’s first message to the people of Israel is about their need for atonement and how they are to receive atonement from God.
